1

WHAT IS COUNSELLING?

Counselling provides a safe and confidential space for you to talk to me as a trained professional about your issues and concerns.

I will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself.

2

WHO IS IT FOR?

In short: everyone. Whether you are dealing with challenges in your present life such as loss of an important relationship or job, or you simply want to understand yourself better, the counselling relationship will give you a space to explore your feelings.

Counselling can be short term and focused on specific issues or can take place over years

HOW CAN I HELP?

My person-centred counselling services are designed to support individuals of all ages in their journey towards mental and emotional well-being.

I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings, and work towards achieving their personal goals.

Contact me today to learn more about how I can support you on your journey.

Why should you choose my services?

I am a fully qualified counsellor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling, and am a Counsellor Member of COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland).

I have 33 years' experience in Education, graduating as a teacher of Physical Education for both Primary and Secondary children and then becoming a Guidance teacher in a promoted post in the secondary sector with connections to local Primary schools in the catchment area.

This is where my desire to support children, young people and their families developed and convinced me that my pathway would follow a Counselling route. I know that my years of experience allows me to connect and engage with people of all ages.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship with all clients is the most important aspect of the counselling process, ensuring a safe and empathic connection to support and facilitate healing. I work in a client led way and offer a non-judgmental space to support and explore my client’s individual needs.

I have undertaken accredited training and meet all standards within my practice. I follow the BACP ethical framework to ensure my practice is safe, ethical and puts my clients first.

I can offer counselling by phone, online through TEAM meetings and face to face in my therapy room in the heart of Aberdeen city centre.

I am also delighted to announce that I can now offer walk and talk therapy for clients that find the therapy room too constrictive and need an alternative, more open space in which to explore their issues.

I have recently attended, as part of my continuous Professional development, the Venture Trust's Outdoor Therapy Course  at the SAMH Walled Garden in Edinburgh. This course introduced me to the main themes related to working therapeutically outdoors. And it gave me the opportunity to experience and develop my understanding of nature-based practice.
